About DFAT
Dimensional Fund Advisors LP’s (the “Advisor”) tax managementstrategies for the US Targeted Value ETF are designed to maximize the after tax value of a shareholder’sinvestment. Generally, the Advisor buys and sells securities for the Portfolio with the goals of: (i)delaying and minimizing the realization of net capital gains (e.g., selling stocks with capital lossesto offset gains, realized or anticipated); and (ii) maximizing the extent to which any realized net capitalgains are long-term in nature (i.e., taxable at lower capital gains tax rates).Toachieve the US Targeted Value ETF’s investment objective, the Advisor implements an integrated investmentapproach that combines research, portfolio design, portfolio management, and trading functions. As furtherdescribed below, the Portfolio’s design emphasizes long-term drivers of expected returns identifiedby the Advisor’s research, while balancing risk through broad diversification across companies andsectors. The Advisor’s portfolio management and trading processes further balance those long-term drivers of expectedreturns with shorter-term drivers of expected returns and trading costs.TheUS Targeted Value ETF, using a market capitalization weighted approach, is designed to generally purchasea broad and diverse group of readily marketable securities of U.S. small and mid cap companies that theAdvisor determines to be lower relative price stocks with higher profitability. A company’s marketcapitalization is the number of its shares outstanding times its price per share. Under a market capitalizationweighted approach, companies with higher market capitalizations generally represent a larger proportionof the Portfolio than companies with relatively lower market capitalizations. The Portfolio may emphasizecertain stocks, including smaller capitalization companies, lower relative price stocks, and/or higherprofitability stocks as compared to their representation in the small- and mid-cap value segment of theU.S. market. An equity issuer is considered to have a low relative price (i.e., a value stock) primarilybecause it has a low price in relation to its book value. In assessing relative price, the Advisor mayconsider additional factors such as price to cash flow or price to earnings ratios. An equity issueris considered to have high profitability because it has high earnings or profits from operations in relationto its book value or assets. The criteria the Advisor uses for assessing relative price and profitabilityare subject to change from time to time.As a non-fundamental policy, under normal circumstances, the US Targeted Value ETF will invest at least 80% of its net assets in securitiesof U.S. companies. The Advisor generally defines a U.S. company as one that is listed and principallytraded on a securities exchange in the United States that is deemed appropriate by the Advisor. The Advisorconsiders for investment companies whose market capitalizations are generally smaller than the 500thlargest U.S. company. Total market capitalization is based on the market capitalization of eligible U.S.operating companies listed on a securities exchange in the United States that is deemed appropriate bythe Advisor. Based on market capitalization data as of December 31, 2025, the market capitalization ofa company smaller than the 500th largest U.S. company would be below $15,092 million. This thresholdwill change due to market conditions. The Advisor may also increaseor reduce the US Targeted Value ETF’s exposure to an eligible company, or exclude a company, basedon shorter-term considerations, such as a company’s price momentum, short-run reversals, and investmentcharacteristics. In assessing a company’s investment characteristics, the Advisor considers ratiossuch as recent changes in assets divided by total assets. The criteria the Advisor uses for assessinga company’s investment characteristics are subject to change from time to time. In addition, the Advisorseeks to reduce trading costs using a flexible trading approach that looks for opportunities to participatein the available market liquidity, while managing turnover and explicit transaction costs.TheUS Targeted Value ETF may purchase or sell futures contracts and options on futures contracts for U.S.equity securities and indices, to increase or decrease equity market exposure based on actual or expectedcash inflows to or outflows from the Portfolio. The US Targeted Value ETF maylend its portfolio securities to generate additional income. The US Targeted ValueETF is an actively managed exchange-traded fund and does not seek to replicate the performance of a specificindex and may have a higher degree of portfolio turnover than such index funds.
